Welcome 1st-2nd Grade Families
Our 1st-2nd grade program will give your child a lifelong love for reading. Our phonics-based reading program will improve reading comprehension and speed or for some learners be the final steps to successfully reading. The language arts and penmanship program will develop creative writing skills and teach grammar. Children will learn arithmetic and problem-solving skills as well as introductions to history, science, and health. The combination of these subjects will help your child understand how the world works.

Learning Environment
Designed to host up to 2o learners, our 1st–2nd grade classroom offers flexible, functional workspaces equipped with Abeka visual aids and engaging hands-on activities. Here, foundational academics are balanced with enriching, interactive experiences—including leadership development, art, practical life skills, and cooking!

What We Cover
Abeka offers comprehensive, biblically-based curriculum with a traditional, spiral learning approach. Abeka’s original curriculum textbooks are researched and written by veteran educators, then tested in the real world. Every tool, resource, and textbook is based on Christian beliefs. Daily classes include Bible, writing, reading, arithmetic, spelling, science, history, health, language and phonics.

Daily Schedule
Each morning at 8:30 AM, our community gathers in the sanctuary for prayer and the pledge. From there, students head to their classrooms for targeted instruction in foundational academics—including phonics, language arts, reading, handwriting, and arithmetic. Later in the day, learners come together for shared lessons in Bible, science, history, health, and art.
